Emergency Mode

Instantly generate a roster of all onsite visitors for evacuation compliance and safety drills.

When to Use Emergency Mode

  • Fire drills or actual fire emergencies
  • Building evacuations
  • Security incidents requiring a headcount
  • Compliance audits requiring proof of visitor tracking

Activating Emergency Mode

1

Navigate to Emergency

Click Emergency in the dashboard sidebar, or use the Emergency Mode quick action on the dashboard.

2

Activate

Click the Activate Emergency Mode button. A confirmation prompt ensures accidental activation is prevented.

3

View the Roster

An instant roster appears showing every visitor currently onsite:

  • Visitor name and photo
  • Host name
  • Check-in time
  • Visitor type
  • Location (for multi-site organizations)
Emergency mode is logged: Activation and deactivation events are recorded in the audit trail with the name of the person who triggered it.

Deactivating Emergency Mode

Once the emergency is resolved, click Deactivate Emergency Mode. Normal operations resume. All check-in/check-out functions continue working during emergency mode. It's an overlay, not a lockout.

Kiosk Integration

When Emergency Mode is activated, all paired Self-Service Kiosks at the affected location instantly change to show a prominent, full-screen emergency warning.

  • Evacuation Guidance: Kiosks display instructions advising visitors to exit via the nearest emergency exit immediately and avoid elevators.
  • Automatic Polling: Kiosks poll the server status every 4 seconds, ensuring they adapt instantly to the activation or deactivation of emergency mode.

Who Can Activate?

Admin and Security roles can activate and deactivate emergency mode. Front Desk users cannot.
